Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is currently embroiled in a legal battle over his security arrangements, having approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court with a request for enhanced protection. During a recent court hearing, Jagan’s lawyer highlighted issues with the current bulletproof car assigned to the YCP chief, arguing that it is malfunctioning and requesting an upgrade to a Z+ security category. The lawyer also sought the inclusion of a jammer vehicle in the security fleet to ensure comprehensive protection.
The High Court judge questioned the Advocate General about the necessity of providing Jagan with a new bulletproof car and jammer vehicle. In response, the Advocate General stated that the matter requires further investigation with the home department, asserting that the existing bulletproof vehicle, which belongs to the Intelligence Department, is in good condition.
The hearing has been postponed to the afternoon, as the court awaits additional information. This ongoing case underscores Jagan's efforts to secure enhanced protection amid his contentious relationship with the current TDP+ government and highlights the legal complexities surrounding former officials' security protocols.
