- Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Investment deals, NRI allegations
Political tensions have escalated as Congress sympathisers have accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of questionable agreements made during his recent tour of the United States. The allegations focus on pacts with newly-established companies, such as Swacch Bio, in which Revanth’s brother Jagadeeswar Reddy is a partner. Critics are questioning how a company with such a short existence could mobilize a significant investment of Rs 1,000 crore, especially given the company's lack of a website or other established credentials.
Additionally, concerns have been raised about Urban Prism Infra, a company launched by another of Revanth Reddy’s brothers, Anumula Tirupati Reddy. The timing of its formation and subsequent dealings have led to further scrutiny. Congress sympathisers have called on Rahul Gandhi to initiate an investigation into these transactions, questioning the legitimacy of the deals and the involvement of high-ranking officials such as former industries department chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan and finance department chief secretary Ramakrishna Rao.
In response to these allegations, Jayesh Ranjan and Ramakrishna Rao have defended the agreements, releasing videos to confirm their validity. The political drama continues as the Congress high command faces pressure to address and resolve these contentious claims surrounding Revanth Reddy’s US tour and business dealings.
