  • Telangana, Congress, Delhi Meeting, Demolition Controversy, HYDRA Formation
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and minister Uttam Kumar Reddy have rushed to New Delhi this morning after being summoned by the Congress high command. Speculations were rife that the trio was called to discuss minister portfolios or finalize the leader for the PCC chief post. However, it seems that the purpose of the meeting was entirely different as none of them spoke to the media after meeting the Gandhis.

Recently, N-Convention, owned by actor Nagarjuna, was demolished by HYDRAA on grounds of encroaching the nearby lake. Revanth Reddy had formed HYDRA to reclaim encroached lake lands supervised by IAS officer Ranganath. Similarly, the Sports Village, worth Rs 40 crore and belonging to former Union minister Pallam Raju's brother, was also demolished without prior notice. Pallam Raju, a loyalist of the Gandhi family, complained to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, leading to his summons to Delhi.

During the meeting, Sonia Gandhi questioned Revanth Reddy about the demolition of Sports Village, built 15 years ago, without any notices. The Congress high command seems to be probing the motives behind the formation of HYDRA. The unfolding events raise questions about the targets of such actions and the implications for the political landscape in Telangana.
