When YSR Congress party was in power, reporters from pro-Telugu Desam Party newspapers complained of threats from YSRCP leaders for negative reporting. Now, TDP leaders are also threatening reporters for presenting facts. TDP MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy allegedly threatened an Eenadu reporter for exposing his involvement in sand mafia activities in Srikalahasti constituency. The MLA was accused of collecting kickbacks from consumers despite claims of free sand supply by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. The reporter, who belongs to a pro-TDP daily, was warned by the MLA to stop such stories or face consequences.
