The ongoing feud between YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his sister, YS Sharmila, over the inheritance of their father’s (YS Rajasekhara Reddy's) property has become a point of contention, not just within their family but also among their followers and the wider political landscape. The dispute has led to a split in the YSR loyalist base, with one faction backing Jagan, while the other, though smaller, supports Sharmila’s fight for equal distribution of YSR's assets.

Amid this public rift, TDP leader Buddha Venkanna raised a strong objection to the personal attacks made by YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy against YS Sharmila. Speaking out against Reddy’s derogatory comments, Venkanna questioned why YSR loyalists were silent in the face of such remarks. He referred to a specific incident when Vijayasai Reddy allegedly mocked Sharmila’s visit to Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, saying she wore a yellow saree to “appease” him. Venkanna labeled this as a “pathetic” comment, questioning why no one in the YSR camp had confronted Vijayasai Reddy for disrespecting YSR’s daughter.

“It’s a private matter between Jagan and Sharmila, and they might have their differences, but who is Vijayasai Reddy to make such personal remarks about Sharmila?” Venkanna asked. He added that the attacks on Sharmila by YSRCP leaders had been frequent since she distanced herself from her brother and formed her own political path.

Though Buddha Venkanna belongs to the opposition camp, his point resonates with many observers, who feel that personal attacks in political rivalries only deepen the divides and divert attention from more substantive issues. His comments highlight the ongoing friction within the YSR family and the broader political discourse in Andhra Pradesh.
