In a recent address to the media, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Vijay Sai Reddy, who was appointed as the new regional coordinator for Uttar Andhra, expressed strong confidence about his party's success in the 2027 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. He revealed that the number of constituencies in Uttar Andhra is expected to increase from 34 to 44 due to electoral delimitation, and vowed that YSRCP would secure victories in all of these constituencies.
Reddy emphasized that the party would leverage issues like women’s reservation, electoral reforms, and other regional concerns to build a winning strategy. He forecasted a landslide victory for the party in the upcoming elections, targeting 215 out of 225 constituencies across the state, much like their resounding success in 2019 when they won 151 seats.
Additionally, Reddy highlighted the party's instrumental role in halting the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, a major issue for the region. He also took the opportunity to criticize former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his indirect support of privatization efforts, reinforcing YSRCP's commitment to protecting public assets and industries.
