Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna have given Tollywood a dream start for 2023 with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy respectively. These films have turned out to be Sankranthi blockbusters and they have cumulatively grossed over Rs 200 crores at the global box office. They are well on course to gross over Rs 250 crores in their full run.

While Tollywood has gotten off to a stellar start to 2023 with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy cumulatively grossing over Rs 250 crores, the eyes are now on forthcoming biggies. 

The likes of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram's SSMB28, Prabhas and Prashanth Neel's Salaar, Bholaa Shankar, Balakrishna-Anil Ravipudi's comedy caper, possibly RC15, and several other big-ticket films are lined up for release in 2023. 

The onus is now on these other biggies to carry forward the momentum and make sure 2023 is a highly lucrative year for Tollywood. 

Multiple mid-range films, Shakuntalam, Dhamki, Sir, and others are releasing this Fenruary and they too are expected to fare well at the Tollywood box office. But the real job is on the big ticket films to go big at the box office and round off 2023 on a high after the bright start given by Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.
