But Vijay’s connect with the masses and families helped Family Star register relatively good revenues in spite of all the negativity that was spun around it.

There are multiple social media posts where individuals are saying they indeed enjoyed watching Family Star on OTT and are unable to comprehend the negativity that was seen during the time of the theatrical release. The common opinion is that Family Star has its flaws but at the heart of it, the Vijay starrer is a summer entertainer that can be enjoyed with families. 

This trend is prevalent not just domestically but also in the USA as we are hearing cases of the audience enjoying the film on Amazon Prime and later commenting that they were tricked by the negative press during the time of theatrical release, else they could’ve enjoyed the film on big screens along with their families. 

This, in a way could work very well for Vijay’s future films as the audience who realised Family Star’s actual content and realised that they got sucked into a negative narrative will disregard the negativity batch’s propaganda for Vijay’s upcoming films and make it a point to watch them in theaters regardless of the negative press.
