The second installment of HIT - HIT: Second Case released in theaters today. The film is promoted to be a mystery action thriller and it has the ever-bankable Adivi Sesh in the central role. Here's our review of the film.

Story: KD (Adivi Sesh) is a carefree cop who goes around with arrogance and take it easy attitude. But his world goes upside down after a gruesome murder in his jurisdiction when there are a series of murders. Can he track down the psycho who is at large? If yes, then how?

How did the actors perform?

Adivi Sesh is no stranger to these roles. He is in his element as he plays a careless cop who is challenged with an unphil task of nabbing a psycho criminal at large. He shoulders the film with his towering performance. 

The likes of Rao Ramesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Komalee Prasad and others have done their best to support Sesh. But the narrative is entirely focused on Sesh so there isn't too much scope for other actors. 

What about the technical finesse?

The directed Sailesh Kolanu sticks to the basics when it comes to narrative. He follows the standard handbook for the thriller. There are a few thrills spread sparingly through the course of the film. There are no out of the blue spine chilling elements in the narrative. So, this can't be termed a true blue thriller in any way. 

The background score for the film is very much in sync with the nature of the narrative. The thriller scenes are elevated with the eerie background score. The cinematography is of good quality and so are the production values. 

Analysis:

For most parts, HIT 2 is a standard thriller that doesn't offer anything extravagantly new in terms of thrills and narrative. It follows the typical tropes that are identical with other films of the genre. 

Sesh is the standout in the film. The director Sailesh doesn't try too hard to present his story his story in a spulginly new way to make it a breakthrough film. 

Nevertheless, HIT 2 makes for a satisfactory watch as there are just about enough thrilling elements to keep the audience hooked. The climax will draw a polar response from the audience. A few might find it to be a good one and a few might find it underwhelming. Such are the closing sequences. 

Verdict: HIT is a moderately engaging thriller that has just about enough punch to make for a decent one-time watch. More experimental narrative and shocker of a climax portion could've served it well. It can be termed as a decent standard thriller.
