Bala Devi Chandrashekar is a senior disciple of the noted Bharata Nrityam exponent Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam. Along with pure dance technique, Bala teaches the unique components of Karanas-Temple Sculptures from Natya Shastra, which is the speciality of her Guru Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam, whose scholarly thesis on Karanas remains an inspiration to exponents in this field.
